Jessica Knott created a padlet open for people to share their stories that can “uplift” readers with the creative twist that each story is exactly 55 words, no more, no less and “we are counting.”
The beauty of padlet, which if you are not familiar, is like a web based bulletin board (they kind where you tack up notices and flyers) is that stories can be added by anyone, no accounts are needed, and they can include many kinds of media.
Check out the stories, feel the uplift, and add your own – https://padlet.com/jlknott1/2020OLCInnovate55Fiction
I watched new ones appear while the tab was open in my browser.
This is also something that just might generate creative activities for other teachers. Right?
Found via a tweet, thanks Maha!
Such a cool idea by @jlknott – #55Fiction – tell a story in 55 words (I think the prompt was… sthg uplifting): https://t.co/nji11SwxVl
cc @OnlineCrsLady @KateMfD @MiaZamoraPhD @rjhogue (ppl who have done similar and might appreciate this). Reminds also of @cogdog stuff— ℳąhą Bąℓi, PhD مها بالي 🌵 (@Bali_Maha) June 24, 2020
Later, some words from Jessica:
The presence was what we were hoping for with the Padlet choice… how can we connect together around storytelling with so many in 30 minutes and 55 words? I'll tell you, I did not expect to weep today – but I did.
