In the beginning there was a Writer SPLOT. And it was good. Though it turned out a bit more complicated than it need be. Yes, there is a time to do less code, not more.

But how many people know or will bother with finding direct links to image URLs? What about something closer to the media uploader, so images could be inserted/uploaded in the midst of writing?

Is that magic?  It seemed so. But try that Insert Image button now in the editor, and hit the Upload tab.  You can select or drag and drop an image there, watch the icon spin while it uploads to the site, and BOOM! It’s in the Writing area content.

If you missed it, this is done without being logged in any any way to WordPress, and not using the media uploader (though behind the scenes, the media end up there). That’s the little engine button that could.

A toy train engine. It can.

This is all in the newest version of TRU Writer. The little SPLOT that can.

One small step for SPLOT code, one giant leap for y'all.
